Two cards in the AI App show how a client's website performs. Statistics opens the website's visitor statistics. Search Stats shows how the website appears in Google search (clicks, impressions, keywords) and suggests topics to write about.
Before you start
Select the right company and website in the top bar. See Choosing your company and website.
Both cards are in Most Used and are not shown to users with the Reporter role on the website.
Search Stats needs access to the website's Google Search Console property (see below).
Statistics
Click the Statistics card ("Discover multiple reports to analyse your reach online.").
A window opens with the statistics dashboard that is set up for the website. What you see there, such as the metrics and date ranges, depends on that dashboard.
If no statistics are set up for the website, you see Analytics not yet installed. Click Contact to email your agency (or the UP-TO-DATE support team if you don't work with an agency) and ask for statistics to be installed. If there is no Contact button, your agency hasn't set a contact email yet: reach out to your agency directly.
Tip: In the Posts overview, published posts on websites with statistics show a chart icon that opens the statistics.
Search Stats
Click the Search Stats card ("Show clicks and impressions from google"). The page has three parts.
1. Recommendations
At the top, tiles show Total Keywords, Avg. Position, Total Searches and Improvement Potential.
Below them is a list of keyword recommendations:
Type in Filter Recommendations to search by keyword or recommendation.
Click the arrow on a row to see the Keyword Analysis (Average Position, Impact Score, Total Impressions, Status), Related Keywords and the Recommendation:.
Click Write Article to start writing about that keyword.
If there are none yet, you see No recommendations available. Recommendations appear once there is enough search data.
2. Keyword trends
Charts show how selected keywords develop: Monthly Trend for Selected Keywords, Top Keywords by Average Monthly Searches and Competition vs. Monthly Searches.
3. Google Search Console data
This part shows the website's search results from Google.
Click the Results from button to open Date range.
Choose a period: the last 7, 14 or 28 days, this month, the last 3, 6, 12 or 16 months, or Custom (with Start Date, End Date and Row Limit).
Click Fetch Data.
You then see:
a chart of Clicks and Impressions per day,
a table of search queries with Total Clicks, Total Impressions, Avg CTR (%) and Avg Position. Open Daily Breakdown on a row to see the numbers per day,
Search Keywords, to find a specific query in the table,
write article on each row, to start writing about that query.
The default period is the last 14 days.
Connecting Google Search Console
Search Stats reads the website's data from Google Search Console. If there is no data, you see "There is no records available at the moment." with the address of the account that needs access.
To give access:
Sign in to Google Search Console with an account that owns the website's property.
Open the property for the website's address.
Go to Settings > Users and permissions.
Add
uptodatewebdesign-seo@seo-project-361307.iam.gserviceaccount.comas an Owner.Return to Search Stats and click Fetch Data.
If the website isn't in Google Search Console yet, or you're not sure who owns the property, contact the UP-TO-DATE support team.
Note: Search Stats uses the website address that is registered for the website. Make sure it matches the property in Google Search Console.
Using the numbers
Impressions show how often the website appeared in Google results. Clicks show how often people clicked through.
A query with many impressions but a low click-through rate is a good candidate for a new or improved post.
Queries with an average position between about 5 and 20 can often move up with a focused article. Use write article to start one.
