The blog editor is where a blog post gets its final shape. You write or paste the text, add a cover image, labels and a call to action, and then publish, schedule or send the post for approval. The editor saves your work as you go.
Before you start
Select the right company and website in the top bar. See Choosing your company and website.
Opening the blog editor
In the Posts overview, click CREATE, or Options > Edit on an existing post. See The Posts overview: finding and managing posts.
In AI Chat, click Publish as blog post on a reply. In the AI Writer, click Add to Blog.
In the Posts overview, click Wizard for a step-by-step version (see below).
When text arrives from AI Chat or the AI Writer, the first heading becomes the title and the editor asks "Would you like to expand the content?" with Improve Content and Manage link recommendations.
The editor at a glance
From top to bottom:
Header: Blog post and << Back to Overview.
Toolbar: Undo, Redo, Preview, help, a lightbulb to start from a saved post layout, a save icon to save this post as a layout, and CLEAR.
AI Help menu: RE-WRITE POST, AI PROPOSAL, and options to translate the post into another language.
Blog, Label and Share rows: the website(s), labels and social accounts for this post.
Languages row: only on multilingual websites.
Title: type the title, or click the magic wand for AI title suggestions.
Cover image, then the text editor, then the call to action.
Bottom bar: the Publish button, an icon row and a status line.
Writing the text
Click in the editor and type. If the post is empty, click generate content with ai to let the AI write it. If there's no title yet, it suggests titles first.
Click the + next to an empty line to add a block:
headings (H2 to H4), lists and nested lists, quotes, delimiters and tables,
images (upload, link or search for a photo),
YouTube videos, buttons, links and emoji,
maps, FAQ sections and sliders,
raw HTML for embed codes.
Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link on an empty line to embed the video.
Select text to make it bold, italic or underlined, add a link, change the case, or use AI Help to rewrite that part. Headings and paragraphs also have AI Help in their block menu.
Tip: Use Undo and Redo (or CMD+Z / CTRL+Z and CMD+Y / CTRL+Y) to step back. The ... menu also has Undo, Redo, Post Layout and Clear Content.
Adding a cover image
In the cover image area:
Browse: pick a photo from the image library or search for one.
Camera: take a photo.
Create: generate an image with AI. The prompt is suggested from your post. See Creating images with Image Creator.
Edit: edit the current image.
Click the × to remove the image.
Labels and call to action
In the Label row, type to search or add a label. New posts get the website's default label from Blog Settings.
Under the text, click Add a call to action and choose the link the reader should go to.
Other post settings (icon row)
Icon | What it does |
|---|---|
Preview post | Shows the post as it will look on the website. |
Schedule / adjust date | Sets the publication date. "Leaving empty will publish immediately". |
Permalink | Shows the post's web address. On WordPress websites you can edit it. |
Request review | Sends the post to reviewers. See Using the approval flow. |
Publishing history | Opens Blog Post History, a log of what happened to the post. |
Check links are live | Checks the links in the post. |
Reviews | Shows reviewers' responses. |
Assign author | On websites with an author box: choose the author. |
Structured data | On websites with structured data switched on: shows the post's structured data. |
Saving
There is no separate save button. The editor saves your post as a draft as you type and when you leave the title field. Use << Back to Overview when you're done for now.
Publishing
Click Publish (or Publish Changes for a post that is already live).
The AI fills in anything still empty: the social media text, the permalink and the meta description.
The review panel opens with tabs for the Blog post, the Social post, the SEO post (on websites that support it) and structured data. Check each one.
Click Ready to post? Click here (or Ready to publish changes? Click here).
If there's no date, the post is published right away. With a date in the future, it is scheduled and published automatically at that time. The success window offers See all blogs created and Go back home.
If the title or content is missing, the button says so and stays disabled.
Note: Users with the Reporter role see Submit for approval instead. Their post goes to the people responsible for approval. See Using the approval flow.
Taking a post offline
Click the Blog row to open the website panel. Next to a published website, click Revert to draft to take the post offline. Click re-publish to put it back.
Sharing on social media
In the Share row, click the social accounts that should share this post.
Click an account to check or adjust its text.
Publish the post.
After publishing, the Social publishing panel shows where the post went. The social post goes out within a couple of minutes.
Tip: If the AI should not write the social text for you, switch on Disable AI Automation in Blog Settings.
Translating a post
On multilingual websites:
In the Languages row, check the languages. The website's default translation languages are selected for new posts.
Click Publish.
In Translation Options, tick the languages the AI should translate. Unticked languages are skipped.
Click Publish Translations.
Translation in Progress shows the status per language (Translating..., Completed, Failed, Skipped). When a translation is done, you can open that version from the Languages panel under "Existing Translations:" and edit it.
The wizard
Click Wizard in the Posts overview for a guided version of the editor:
Step 1: Choose the blog(s) you want to post to
Step 2: What do you want to publish? (labels)
Step 3: Create your message
Step 4: When can it be published?
Step 5: Permalink
Step 6: When can it be shared? (social media text for all channels, which you can adjust per channel)
