Before you can publish social posts for a client, their social media pages need to be connected. Pages belong to the client's company, so you can connect them before any website is connected. You then link each page to the websites it should publish for.
Before you start
In Accounts, you need to be an owner or admin of the company, or an owner or admin of its agency.
You need a login for the social network with admin rights on the client's page, or the client needs to sign in with you.
Connect pages from Accounts
In Accounts, open the company and go to the Social tab. (On the Overview tab, the Social pages block has an Open button that goes to the same place.)
The Connect Accounts screen opens. With nothing connected yet, it says "Connect your social media accounts to get started".
Find the network's card and click Connect Account.
Sign in to the network in the window that opens and allow access to the page.
When you return, the card shows how many accounts are connected. Click View Accounts to see them.
The networks you can connect are Facebook (Pages and Groups), Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Business.
Use the Cards and List buttons to switch how connected accounts are shown.
Link a page to a website
A connected page only becomes available in the social post composer for the websites it is linked to.
In Accounts, open the website and go to the Social tab. The screen is titled Social pages for the website's domain. The tab only appears if you can manage the company; a Manager of just this website doesn't see it.
Next to each page, click Link to site. The button changes to Publishes here.
To stop a page publishing for this site, click Publishes here again. The page stays connected to the company.
The header shows how many of the company's accounts publish to this site.
Social Media Connections in the AI App
Your team can also manage connections from the AI App:
Open the AI App and select the client's website in the top bar.
On the dashboard, under Settings & more, click Social Media Connections.
The connection screen opens for the selected website.
Reporters don't see this card.
Reconnect an expired account
Social networks end access after a while, or when a password or page admin changes. Posts to that account can then fail.
On the Connect Accounts screen, an Account Reconnection Required alert tells you how many accounts need attention.
The affected account is marked Reconnect needed.
Click the reconnect icon next to the account and sign in to the network again.
The AI App dashboard can also show a card with accounts that are about to expire, each with a Reconnect button and its expiration.
Disconnect an account
Click the disconnect icon next to the account and confirm. The page no longer publishes for any website.
