Reviewers are set per website, not as a role. On the website's Approval tab you choose who is asked to approve content for that site. The AI App fills these reviewers in every time someone sends posts for approval.
Before you start
You need the Manager role on the website, or be an owner or admin of its company (or its agency). Others can see the settings but not change them.
Set the reviewers
In Accounts, open the website and go to the Approval tab. The section is called Approval defaults.
Make sure Use these reviewers for this website is switched on.
Under Reviewers (To), type an email address and press Enter or type a comma. Add one or more people, for example the client contact who signs off on content. Click the x on an address to remove it.
Under CC (optional), add anyone who should be copied. CC recipients can read the request but cannot approve on the website's behalf.
Under Default message, write the text reviewers see in the approval email. Click Use suggested to start from the standard text.
Click Save settings.
At the bottom of the section you can see how many reviewers and CC addresses are set, or "No reviewers set yet".
Tip: Reviewers don't need an account. They open the post from the email link without signing in. See Requesting client reviews.
How the AI App uses these settings
Request review in the blog editor opens a panel with the reviewers, CC and message already filled in.
In the Posts overview, selecting several posts and choosing Send for Approval opens Send Posts for Approval with the same defaults.
The person sending can still change the recipients for that one request. The settings are defaults, not a lock.
If no reviewers or message are available, the AI App warns "Missing email message or there are no reviewers added."
If you switch Use these reviewers for this website off, the approval window in the AI App starts empty and the sender fills it in by hand.
When to set this up
Reporters and AI Users can't publish directly. Their main button in the blog editor reads Submit for approval. Set up reviewers on every website where you give people those roles, before you invite them.
